Dear Kevin -

You've pointed out a characteristic our little CA insect friends share in common with some of the more interesting serial killers, that of mutating or metamorphosing. Asset Acceptance Corporation has become in the twinkling of two years Asset Acceptance LLC, or Limited Liability Corporation, perhaps in recognition of their provocative, illegal tactics and the need to protect themselves from those debtors posessed of righteous anger and who count the FTC and AG's as allies.
Just as the Green Man, a meek little photographer dressed in all green outfit who took risque pix of semi-nude girls morphed into the dread Boston Strangler, so has AAC undergone change.
Recall the film Silence of the Lambs, our little mixed up friend Buffalo Bill was constantly changing, reinventing himself as he grew in the job, if you will.
AssXXXX Acceptance LLC is like the cut happy quack doctors of the fabulous fifties. THey are sue happy. They file junk suits, the LLC protects them - they hope.
If they file, answer the suit count by count by pleading 'Lack of Knowledge' or similar wording as proscribed by local court rules. This makes the larva work harder, perhaps past design limit. They have to gather facts, and many times their records are not in good order. Answer the suit within a day or two of the deadline for reply, make them wait every step of the way by 'running out the clock."
If not beyond SOL, might be risky to demand validation, perhaps demand that if they sue, hopefully this will sprag their efforts.
If their love note refers to you as a customer, make sure that they've included the Privacy Legislation Opt Out Form or letter. The onus is upon them to do so. If not, complaint time to the FTC. Send them a letter indicating no sharing of any info without your permission, period, and they of course haven't your permission and never will. Another FTC thicket for them to enjoy.
If they call, send C&D and hope the persist in calling, direct that they correspond only by mail. This will remove their excuse that they had to sue as they had no means otherwise with which to communicate with you.
Hopefully this helps. Please do stay in touch, we are all here to help. We have long memories and enduring desire to right injustices. Some of us are never far away indeed. I'm afraid I won't be calling personally upon AssXXXX Acceptance personally as I'm having an old friend for dinner.....

Yours in limited liability,

Keyser Soze

"Oderint dum metuant"
(let them hate us, so long as
they fear us)

PS - some insight into AAC. Bullies threaten with that which specifically they most fear. AAC sometimes attaches false, defamatory statements to their court papers insinuating that you character is less than perfect, your behavior is upsetting to them, so forth. Irrelevant and perhaps grounds to annoy them with threat of counterforce action.
Moreso, their esteemed founder by his matter of fact declarations of self as inscribed upon his website will tell you precisely that which he most fears. Between the lines, of course. Just look at some of the photos, should you run the name through the search machines. Greed always has as its nemesis truthful reduction. And these colorful CA characters are in need of reduction.
