I think you probably are safe enough if you don't pay anyone off who is reporting on your credit reports.

See if you can get a free credit report( I think Pa. is a State that gives you 1 free report a year) make sure you get all 4, including Innovis.

The important thing to remember is that you can STILL be sued after the SOL is up, and you would have to defend yourself. So you need to keep your nest egg safe. I suggest you consider an immediate anuity,or a lump sum (FIXED-NOT VARIABLE) one that you can draw on after the first year, through some reputable insurance company. Annuities are safe from seizure in BK or judgments.

Double check your reports to see the "come-off-date" of the ccounts. DO NOT try to "repair" any errors, as that would be a tipoff that you are concerned about your credit. Opt out immediately, this will prevent any possible "fishing expeditions" from anyone accessing the probate records.

Make sure you avoid for the next year or so ANY purchases that involve applying for credit.

55 is NOT "old" You never know what the future may hold for you until you try.
