I, too, lived in a community property state. My ex filed bk while we were still married...without telling me. Didnt find out until divorce trial. Anyhow, this automatically made all our community debt my responsibility. If you have debts that are soley yours, it will be okay. If you have community debts, then your husband will be responsible. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just make sure these things are not going to come back on him...it would mean that you filed bk just to still end up with collectors calling. If these are YOUR individual debts, then you should be just fine. Nikki
