Half is profit to them. If it's purchased, they probably paid somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-30% of the debt to purchase it.
If it's with the original creditor, they would only charge it off for that 20-30%, so they'd still be coming out ahead at $1900. Don't get discouraged.
