Question about SOL and written/nonwritten accounts

Hello, I live in California. I had a best buy account in the past that has been charged off (6-2000). In CA the SOL for written accounts/contacts is 4yrs, but for unwritten accounts it is 2yrs. Does this mean that if the CA cannot produce a signed written contract for the account the SOL is only 2 years? Im wondering because im worried the CA (AssetAceptance) will sue. Thanks for any help Jericho
