Well, going with your original creditor is always the best bet. Some Credit Counseling Agencies will enter information on your credit reports under each of your accounts that indicate some sort of credit settlement agreement. You might as well BK considering Credit Counseling info is considered negative and will remain on your report for 7 years anyway. If they try to tell you differently, they're full of it.
