If you don't file an Answer, they will get a judgment by default. You MAY be able to contest this on the basis of improper service if that happens, but you won't have a lot of time to do so.

Call the courthouse where the lawsuit was filed ASAP and ask the clerk for the status.

Did Ford know your current address ?? If so, and you can prove it, then you may be able to prove improper service.
