Do you have an old credit report as proof? If you do then asset is screwed. They have been sued more times than you can count in federal court, civil, and small claims court. I was just on PACER the other day looking at the tons of lawsuit against asset for reaging debts. I would suggest getting hold of daniel edelman. He is also in illinois and can take your case on contingency. I talked to a michigan attorney last week and he says most of his money is made off of asset and their reaging and asset knows they did wrong and settles quickly.
