They said they'd fax me a settlement notice that says if I pay the settled amount that it would be done. They don't sell the balance, they said they can't. They also said that they don't issue a 1099-C. MBBA has nothing else to do with this since they sold it. It sounds okay, except that they tell me they can't say it's paid, rather that it's been settled. My score is 605 now, they say it will go up. Does this seem alright? I sure don't trust them...
