Need some advice "why-chat" or someone else

I had an account with Providian for 1860.00. Needless to say the account went into default about three years ago. I was recently contacted by a "Settlement company" named Account Managment Services out of Buffalo New York. They told me that they were not a collection company and had been hired by Providian to collect the back amount owed from me. I currently live in the State of Oregon. I think this is about the basics.
Now to continue the story. First off these people have been calling my parents non-stop for about two weeks because my father refused to give them my new phone number and I finally told him to just give it to them so they would leave my parents alone. When I first talk to the guy he asked me if I had recieved the papers from the county. I said no. He then told me that they were not a collection company and that I need to make payment araingments with them or they were going file papers with the county and get their money otherways. Now on my CCR it clearly states that my Providian account has been charged off and account closed and that is all, nothing about being transfer to a collection company or sold to a collection company and the collection company is not showing up on my CCR either. Lastly when I called them a second time I had to put them on hold and they hung up and I called back and the lady there said the following "You f***ing just hung up on me." I proceded to tell her that she didn't need to use that language with me and that if I hung up on her why would I be calling back.
So the questions I have is what should I do about this?? Send a C&D letter?? I mean I have caller id and I don't talk to them so they don't bug me, My wife on the other hand who is not on the account loves yelling at them. Should I just wait until I get papers from the court if that happens, and what do you think is the chance that will actually happen?? Please advice. Thanks
