Ken - NO, they can NOT do that. Their threats are illegal and a load of manure !!! Best thing to do is know that they are full of it and cannot do the things they threaten. 99% of the time a bounced check is, at its worst, a misdemeanor and *can* come with up to treble damages, assigned by the court. Unless your wife, or anyone dealing with these thugs, is a habitual kiter of checks, IT IS NOT CRIMINAL !!!

The BEST thing you can do against these dirtbags is to file complaints with the FTC, your States' AG office and your local DA too - I'll bet he'd get a HUGE laugh out of it and wouldn't know these jerks from Adam.
