I got a letter from Capitol One that said that the account was charged off but they were asking for money to pay it off. Now, I received a letter from an attorney telling me I had to pay in full or go to court. What exactly does it mean for the account to be charged off? I am in CA but will soon be moving. I think the last payment was probably 10 months ago. I have no job and no house. I only make payments on a car so technicly I dont own it. I dont know what to do. I dont have money to pay and dont want to go court. What does it mean for it to be charged off and if it has been charged off then should I be hearing from an attorney? Thank you!
