I have negative entries on my Chexsystems report, and have found it nearly nearly impossible to open a bank account anywhere, even though these entries have been paid off. I am aware of USAA, and will soon open an acount there.

I recently discovered another place that will accept my money, and it has a money market account. It is Sharebuilder, an on-line stock brokerage firm. At first I was very discouraged to read their terms stating that it would do a full investigation of my consumer report, ba blah, blah, blah. However, my application was accepted with no problem.

Chexsux is a menace to everyone. For anyone making an error in balancing a checkbook, one pays the consequence, from a closed account to refusal of opening account. Preventing fraud is one thing, eliminating a customer for an honest mistake is another.
