Depends on who you owe. 5K isn't a whole lot of debt and to have filed for BK so recently its a shame to have your credit going bad yet again. At this stage of the game, only 90 days past due, they're likely not going to be willing to settle. The closer they get to charge-off at the 6-month mark, the more likely they are to settle, but it'll be for 80-90%. Have you asked if you can get on a hardship program ? At 90 days past due, they should be ready to let you do that.
