You are wrong, and obviously have not really read what goes on here. We help people KNOW AND EXERCISE THEIR RIGHTS as guaranteed by FEDERAL AND STATE laws put in place because collection agencies were out of hand. There are some "legitimate" collection agencies, but those are being totally overshadowed by the horrendous and illegal behaviour and tatics used by firms like WhiteWing, ASSet Acceptance, CAMCO, NCO and others who VIOLATE THE LAWS hundreds of thousands of times a day !!! Why should we NOT fight for our rights ?? You would do the same fighting for other rights of YOURS that are impinged upon and you'd find a lawyer as fast as you could to DEFEND them !!

We don't tell people not to pay LEGITIMATE debts, but we do help people who are being victimized by the very bad apples in your collection industry barrel.

If the truly legitimate collection agencies.. and that's nearly an oxymoron, would POLICE ITS OWN and stick to OBEYING THE FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS, then consumers would not have to fight so hard to protect their rights and our livelihoods. I would NOT live in a cardboard box under a bridge just to pay a collection agency for ANY debt. There is nothing that says I have to live that way to pay the likes of YOU!

Not everyone with credit problems is a deadbeat trying to merely duck out on their bills. In case you haven't noticed, the economy and job market SUCKS rocks. Lots of people who never had a single problem suddenly find themselves a victim of a layoff and can't find adequate employment to meet what were once manageable bills. What was once a molehill is now more like a mountain and unless a person is willing to risk their health by working 2-3 jobs and basically selling themselves into servitude to pay bills, then that person is labeled as a 'deadbeat' -- or in your language a 'cockroach'.

POLICE YOUR OWN, pal. When a collector calls and threatens to take the home and all belongings of an elderly ,disabled person for an out-of-statute credit card debt, that's illegal in more ways than one and utterly reprehensible. Who the hell do you think you are ?? Would you like to have YOUR GRANDMOTHER vicitimized that way ??? I'd bet not ! That's why you get called 'scumbags' and other names.. and those that use more horrible names to abuse the debtors they call to extort moeny from, DESERVE to be called whatever names are applicable !!

You guys don't like it because we CAN fight for our rights, we CAN fight you in court, and we often WIN - and your noses are out of joint because places like this board tell people how to do it. Too damn bad.. the FIRST AMENDMENT guarantees us free speech, and we will use it.
