I'm not so sure it IS true. What apparently happens is that once the NAF gives them their 'award', they immediately go for a judgment. Since there's NO OTHER WAY for them to do anything, legally, to enforce collection of the debt, and the debt IS dischargable, then the judgment WOULD be vacated post-discharge by your lawyer. I'm guessing that the so-called "award" by NAF itself could survive bankruptcy, but the debt will NOT and without a valid judgment, they can't do jack squat to collect on a discharged debt !!
