The basic problem is not only the tactics, but the very premise of 3rd party debt collection,(purchased debts).

The OC has written it off,so they have already used this a tax offset, thereby allowing their business to profit.

The purchase have been made, the mfg. of the goods or the provider of the services have contributed to the economy.

What intrinsic value is there to the economy of 3rd party debt collection agencies,(other than the employment of people who are generally unemployable in any REAL occupation).?

In addition, if anyone delves into the REAL ownership of these "bottom feeders", (and even the listed ones), you find yourself in a VERY murky web of interrelated "front men" and strange "off shore" and foreign investments.

Which is why I NEVER suggest "settling" with CA's,not because I don't believe people shouldn't pay their debts, but because I believe any $$ paid to CA's is money down a rathole.
