I'm confused about something. Now from what i understand after 7 years negative info, such as charge offs falls off your credit file. If this is true, then what is the point in paying them off if you reach the seven-year limit. The reason why I ask this is because I have some charge-offs that went on my file in 1996, It's just about 2001 now, so that should mean that in 2 more years my file should be clear. If this is true does that mean I will have a fresh start? In two years, how will this affect me with regards to getting a loan for a car, getting a cell-phone, etc. In my situation what is the best thing for me to do?
