I wonder if the Statute of Limitation has expired?

For the last three years, I have been living a life below poverty line. The reason for that life is that I owe a large amount of money on my credit cards. All the charges were made in the State of Oklahoma where I am a resident of that State. In addition to the credit cards charges, I owe some money on balance transfer checks from different credit card companies . The last charge was made on November 15th, 1997. No suits have been filed against me since I do not owe any properties or hold a decent job.
I have contacted few attorneys in the area concerning the Statute of limitation on my debts and they didn't give me a convincing answer. They said that the Statute of limitation could vary and depends to the charges and wanted me to file bankruptcy. Due to my ego, I never considered filing bankruptcy and I am not planning to do that in the future no matter what.

I appreciate your time if you could clarify for me the followings:

1. Are there a Statute of limitation on my credit card and balance transfer check debts and when does it become effective. I checked your site and it says 3 years, does that apply to my case too.

2. Are balance transfer check debts considered as credit card debts, or how is it consider.

3. Writing a balance transfer check from the first credit card company to the second credit card company in order to cover the second credit card debts. If the first credit card company would not increase my credit card limit and reject the payment to the second credit card company. Is that consider a bounce check. if yes, what are my options.

4. If the Statute of limitation applies to my debts, what are my creditors' options from now on. If I handle a real job with a decent pay and file taxes, could they come after me in any way besides demanding payments by letters or phones.

5. If I move to another State, will it make it harder on my creditors to bother me from this point on.

6. Is there a way from this point on not to let my creditors know my place of employment, phone number, check my taxes, etc…

7. By owing a lot of money on my credit cards and no way I could pay them back, Is there a way or a law where I could be jailed for that. (P.S. I never wrote a bounced check in my life).

I appreciate your time and your valuable and professional answers.

Sincerely,

Larry
