Hospital bill summons...running out of time

I just found this board tonight...VERY cool. I'll make this quick... My wife received a summons related to a hospital bill from Feb. 2002. Here's the kicker, I can't see where they ever submitted the claim to our insurnce company. The doctor got her money from the same procedure through insurance but I can find no record of the hospital portion ever being submitted. How should I proceed??? I don't have much time left to get this handled so any help you can give would be great!
