No, this has not appeared on her credit report so far. It appears that the hospital is suing because the letters came through an attorney (as far as I can tell) and the summons directly references the hospital.

I have not spoken to the hospital yet. Should I call them or should I send them a letter (overnight of course at this point)?

Sorry for my n00b-ness but HIPAA = ?
