NCO just called me about my Nextcard balance. We have not made a payment in 175 days. They stated that it will be charged off and sold at 180 days. Within the next few days, I'm expecting an insurance settlement that will let me catch up on my debts a bit. NCO offered to settle for 50% of the balance, and offered to send a letter stating they would not resell the balance due. Is NCO to be trusted? Should I go ahead and pay the entire balance of nearly $5000? I live in NC, and prior to 5 months ago, we were never late with them. TIA
