co-signing mess!!!

My husband is going to co-sign for his son to be able to qualify for an appartment. My stepson is 19 and unemployed. Would my signature need to be on this form? Also, if or when my stepson gets a job can my husband get his name taken off the original aggreement? I think co-signing is wrong, but if any one has an info, I would appreciate it. Thanks
