The sol on this card is already up. It is 4 years in california. Did you know that in your state it is ILLEGAL for him to even collect on the debt. Granted, it may still be hard to get off your credit card but if you settle now your credit will be destroyed because their offer of putting settled notation on the tradeline is about as damaging as BK. Then they will go ahead and resell the debt to another CA. If you pay you are asking for pain and suffering. I would demand that he pays you $1000. Tell him you will forgo the 1k if he deletes, closes the account, and promises not to resell it. Tell him your attorney told you this. Need proof? go to the below link.
