No, it was not a default judgment. We went to every court date and when we went to the second to last one their lawyer did not appear so the judge gave us a default judgement that dropped the case. 2 days later I get a letter from the court saying that it was reversed on the same day and scheduled a new hearing date.

I did not know to validate it at the very beginning which was my first very big mistake in this.

This judgment was for a Discover card account and when my husband got injured on the job, he was the main bread winner of the family, we barely kept going on my salery. My husband is on SSDI and that is our main source of income which is not attacheable even if they could get it from him.

We are wondering if this is a lein that only last for 3 years then it has to be renewed for up to 10 years then it is dropped.

Don't ask me how it became a secured lien, I have no idea. Susan
