The 'extra' money that you now owe is IN THE AGREEMENT you signed when you applied for those credit cards. Its interest and finance charges and that's how it works, period. You AGREED to the terms when you signed up for the card. You used it and that further showed your acceptance of the terms.

You may THINK you're judgment-proof NOW, but judgments hang around a LONG time and eventually you'll have something that can be siezed to satisfy the debt.

Whether you have a 'career' or not, you really cannot hide in this world any more unless you live totally outside of society, use NO public services at all, and that INCLUDES medical, no phone, no electric, no cable, no NOTHING. No bank accounts of any kind, EVER.

Its not as easy to 'hide' these days as you seem to be think - you are deluding yourself if you think you can without a total withdrawl from society and go live out in a cave in the wilderness and be a complete recluse.

You obviously don't get it....
