For information purposes ONLY. The reason why "laches" is not given as a defense in a law suit that has been filed beyond SOL is that "laches" is a principle in equity, not a statutory defense as is SOL.The ONLY time "laches" could possibly be used would be if there were an action taken that did not have a statutory time limit, such as something like claiming a deficiency on repo a long time after the sale, where the State statutes merely said the claim must be made in a "reasonable" time.
