Best sequence

What would be the best sequence of steps to get a debt that has been handed off to a CA off my credit report?

The debt is beyond the state's SOL. The original creditor no longer shows on my CR. But the CA's debt shows on my report, and I'm pretty sure the date of when it will drop off my CR is incorrect/has been extended.

So what would be the best sequence to get this removed?
