Im so confused .....can u help

well, It all started yesterday Im in hopes while sitting in lawyers office with my new husband that I might be able to avoid bankruptcy! until i get my credit report ..oh boy! my x hubby, and i bought a car and he was first on loan so after divorce when i was late on payments cos he insisted i take this debt in divorce, The bank says NO he is responsible so they went after him, I return the car to him and he returns it to bank, I find out that its on my report and it says the amt is 23,000. + and Im going Woah!! then I see the mobile home that has my name first he got in divorce it says 30,000.00 but is in his chapter 13 bankruptcy! so Im wondering if he filed bankruptcy why does the bank not show up under bankruptcy on my report? Im so confused and feel hopeless ! I was hoping to consolidate my bills and maybe rebuild my credit while current husband is in his bankruptcy, with hopes that when he comes out I can maybe have some kind of credit? or is it bankruptcy for me too? thanks T.
