hello victory....as i was reading your predicament with NCO, i just had to inform you that i am also exactly in the same boat as you. in fact, i just got a letter from them two days ago and they surely stipulated the case #, mini miranda and bla bla bla. worst is....before i even received notice from them, they had the audacity to call my husband at work and they left a message about the case number. when i told them yesterday that my husband is not a cosignor in my account and that they are jeopardizing his job, they gave me all sorts of impertinent hoolabaloos...i guess they realized that our state laws will not allow them to garnish our accounts nor my spouse's salaray. i told them that through the years, i have always been diligent with my bills and have always maintained a good credit rating. but unexpectecd things have happened and i am in a situation where i can no longer pay any of my credit card bills due to being umemployed for years and due to medical reasons. but they insisted that i will have to squeeze all my resources to be able to pay them---which i do not have any of! why the hell should i go through all these if i had the means and the resources to pay the original creditor back! their demands are unreasonable and yes, the right adjective for them are SCUMBUGS! they do not only threaten to notify your friends and neighbors plus police, they will harass, intimidate and ruin you till timbaktu! i am grateful that this forum has been a relief and a kind of therapy for me and for a lot of people who never wished to be in this predicament. victory, don't let them get you---they are not worth your time and energy.....NCO should understand the simple premise in life----"we cannot give what we do not have!" and if in the event they sue...in as much as it is painstaking and will surely haunt us for years...then, bankruptcy can be our last resort. i'd rather go bankrupt than deal with ogres like NCO! hang in there....
