The SOL in Ma. is 6 years for cc debt. So, you should be close if the last payment was mid 1997. Also, this stuff will fall of your credit report at 7 years from chargeoff. I'd just try and stay below the radar for a few more months.
Tell your exroomie to send a letter to the CA saying noone by your name is at that address and to quit calling. Send it CRRR. Really, just hold off on credit repair for 6 months and get the SOL behind you.
