(NewComers, please READ) The link to his site is in the post and will give you all the info you need per state etc. An SOL (Statute of Limitations)is the time frame in which it would be legal to collect on a debt through lawsuit/legal action. You can still be sued when the SOL runs out, but you would have to go to court with expired SOL as your defense. If you don't show up, they can win a judgement. Depending on your state and what type of debt you have...your SOL will vary. Go to Why Chat's website. A lot of the questions you may have can also be answered there, or found in the search field on this board. If you need further help you may want to include in this post what kind of debt you have and when you made your last payment etc. That way LadynRed or Why Chat or someone else can determine if you are within SOL or not. If the SOL has expired, they can direct you further, or you can read about it, and get the letters you need on the website. It is very helpful!
