story about hospital--get this

Here's the story
November 2002--Kathi went into the hospital for 3 days to have some tests done. they said it was paid at 100% and later on found out that it wasn't and that our portion was $500. We are disputing that amount. March 27--get a collection notice from "clinton a harkins, p.c. represening emory healthcare asking for payment. May 13--similar letter from "Carmen V. Porreca asking the same thing. Both are from the same offices. Contact Latonja B. at xxx-xxx-xxxx for any questions..... May 9--(this is the one i am asking about)Get a letter from "Emory Healthcare" asking for $60 from some other procedure (10/31?), get this, from the same contact as above; Latonja B.! Same address as the above law offices, just different suite numbers! Now on the latter address, there is NO statement about "Unless you notify this office....., this is from a debt collector...attempt to collect a debt.... Is that not a violation? If it is, what should I do about it? Is this a HIPAA violation also? thanks, Duke
