In the book, "The Art of War" it indicated the importance of knowing your enemy as a means to gain victory. If debt is your enemy, you can never beat it until you truly know [in depth] what it really is, how it was designed, how it came to be and the part we play in it's design. With that knowledge [or power] you can take the necesssary steps to clear up the debt situation and then go further to put things in place to maintain as debtless a life as possible. I believe that should consititute true debt counceling. If people aren't properly educated, they will never truly get out of debt [or the poverty menatlity.]
