We had an AMEX account that went to collections. We were contacted by an attorney and set up a repayment plan. The last payment was made in October of 1997, and I have the letter from the attorney confirming this was paid in full. This is the last black mark on my credit report and I would like to get it removed. We live in California. How long can this remain on all 3 CA after October, 1997?
