received a letter today from a company called attention, llc, for collectition from discover. i assume they are a collection agency since the letter did not say that discover had sold this acct to them. they were authorized to accept a 70% settlement. who are they....they also said that i have 30 days to dispute or they will assume the debt is mine...if anyone knows who they are please advise...
also, a company called nco, has left several nasty messages on my phone, one day i pu by mistake, after they told me that they were going to take legal action, ect, judgement ect. they asked why i hadnt payed, i said i'd been ill off and on and still am. they said then that they had been tape recording our conversations, and these would be typed into transcripts to be reviewed by their legal department..What the H..does that mean..i didn't admit to anything other than i had been ill, asked them to send me the infor they wanted to discuss with me via mail and they said it was a waste of their time..please give some insight into this...
one more thing..once a accout cc, is charged off, or turned over to a ca, and a judgement is isssued..what means are available for them to collect.How do they find out if there's money there. for example, i receive an inheirtence, or rec. some settlement from a accident..how can they find that out, say 3 years down the road from the date the judgment is issued. Does a judgment tie up any income, say does it have to be reported to the courts...please advise...and THANKSSSSS.
