Judgement and garnishment question

I live in Ohio. I became unemployed and could not keep up with my credit cards. An attorney's office called about one of my accounts. I told him my situation and he said he would hold off doing anything for 30 days. I asked him what would happen in the event I could not make arrangements to pay. He told me they would get a judgement against me and my wages would be garnished once I found employment. I do own a house with my mother. There is equity in the house. Does a judgement mean a judgement lien on the property? If they did do this, can they also garnish? Does Ohio have a homestead exemption?
Thanks in advance.
