Wow.. what a fiasco :( Doesn't sound like the Providian account got to charge-off status before it went to ICS - typical. Did you get ANYTHING in writing as to your 'arrangement' with ICS ? Do you have cancelled checks or some proof that you paid ICS ?? You cannot trust a creditor.. they are fair weather 'friends' (and I use that word lightly) at the very minimum, and don't give a rat's butt what happens to you, they just want your money. You may want to seek out a consumer protection lawyer to help straighten this out. You can find one at the link below.
