Legal question re: fcra fdcpa

My business had (closed in 1998) a merchant account with Cardservice International. When I closed the account there was a balance of $500 owed to cardservices for "chargebacks." Can this account be placed on my consumer credit report? It has been referred to a collection agency and they are listing it also. I would like to pay this debt, but it has to be contingent on full deletion. Can anyone advise on whether it is permissible under the FCRA or FDCPA to place a business account on a consumer credit report?
