The collection agencies are playing a high-stakes game. They violate all the rules in an effort to con and frighten you into giving them money. They buy debt for a penny on the dollar. If they get just a couple of people out of every hundred called to fork over cash, they are making money by the ton. Nice racket, and indeed they act like racketeers save for the fact that gangsters have more breeding and principles.
Start costing them money by fighting back through agencies. Cause trouble for them by noting every violation of rules, all of which can be accessed on this site. They can't change their tactics. Like criminals, they do the same stupid things over and over and over.
But you can vary your actions and thus defeat them. You have truth on your side.
