I was put on chexbitches in 98, I couldnt open up a new account til this year after I moved from Connecticut to California, the bank I am with now knows about my chex but their policy is to allow a person to open an account if the chex entry is at least 3 years old. You could try going in and explaining your situation and requesting a savings account, if you care for it they may consider opening a checking account for you in a year or two.
