Judgement I didn't know I had

I'm in California. In 1996, I divorced my first husband, and our divorce decree gave him the house, with it's joint 1st & 2nd mortgages. The next year, he defaulted and went into bankruptcy. I know, the banks don't care about the divorce decree, and the 2nd mortgage holder came after me for the deficiency. As soon as my ex's bankruptcy was finalized, I stopped hearing from them. Imagine my suprise when I opened my mail and found a new CA had bought up the paper, and there is a default judgement against me from 1997. I was never served any papers, or notified of a court date. The on-line court records do show that a judgement was awarded. Is it possible to get it vacated this much later due to lack of service?
