I ran a credit report on myself around September. I found a lot of the information to be incorrect because I had to file bankruptcy when I divorced. I have been working very hard to rebuild my credit so I wanted it to be correct. I even found some accounts on my report that I had forgotten about and paid since I am financially able to now. All three of the credit bureaus did a great job updating the information and even sent me a copy of the corrections. Finally I have a good credit rating with a better than average credit score, which I am very pleased about. However, I found something on the new credit report that I just got today that disturbs a little bit. Some time in October of last year some company named Sherman Acquisition was placed on my report and listed as "credit extension, review, or collection" it is closed, but under payment status it reads, "Paid, was a colleciton account, government claim, or was terminated for default" My question is, what in the hell does all that mean and who in the hell are these people. I have no idea why they are on there and why just one month after I paid all my deliquent accounts and updated my bankruptcy information it would be there. It seems a little fishy to me. Does anyone know how to contact these people?
