a ceast and desist does not stop collection activity at all because if that was the case then all debtors would send in a ceast and desist notice like i said before just because this is not on his credit report does not mean its not collectible in the contract he signed with his original creditor it does not state if you stop payment on this bill for 7 years dont worry about it. i work for a collection agency i know and i didnt say it would stop him from getting a mtg i said it would show up if he tried to get a mtg i deal with people on a day to day basis who call in to pay their past stat accounts because they want to get a house, car etc. the debt doesnt go away until it is paid regardless if it is on his cr or not. I DO THIS FOR A LIVING I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT.
