It is illegal in most States to collect on a time-barred debt (past the legal collection limit)However the scum scam collection agents will always try. If you call them or contact them in ANY OTHER way, they will be encouraged to re-age the account and poison your credit report.

You may have recently had some activity, like applying for a mortgage that put you back in these bottom feeders eyes. You can avoid this by "opting-out" (see the link to opt out and fraud report on my website)
