Asset Acceptance has been calling my house for the last 3 months or so on a relatively regular basis and up until today I thought they were a telemarketer since they left such cryptic yet emphatic messages and I never called them back. I figured that if it really was important that they would leave a better message or contact me in another way. Today my husband answered the phone and they wouldnt tell him what it was about. So I did a search on the internet and found this forum where Asset Accpt is obviously not thought very highly of! So here's my question: do I have a legal obligation to call them back? Is there a way that I can find out what they are calling about without really calling them? Also, I think that in one of the messages that they used my maiden name. If that's the case, I've been married going on 10 yrs...is the SOL past that so I should have to worry about it? (I live in TX). I'd like to hope that if I just continue to ignore them that they will go away but sounds like they are persistent buggers! Any advise is appreciated.
