How old is this debt and what state are you in. They are just trying to scare you. Were the validation letters send certified or faxed? They cannot send anything until they validate the debt. I would send a 15 day validation letter followed by a 48 hour intent to sue. I would also immediately file with the BBB and the attorney general in their state and yours. You need to create a paper trail. Once you do this they are screwed.
