Med bills holding me back

i have medical bills that were verified after i tried debt validation. How can I get them off my credit report? they won't settle or negotiate...?
Is that HIPPA letter too new for me, my bills are from 98/99? I am in michigan, does the SOL for med bills differ than all other contracts? someone mentioned the UCC.. any input guys? thanks...
