My suggestion, get an answering machine and let it answer your calls. When you hear the voice of the person leaving the message, you can choose to pick it up or not. Also, another person suggested call intercept. As a subscriber I can say it works wonders. It stops out-of-area, unavailable and blocked calls dead. It won't even ring at your house. The only way to bypass that is for them to record a name or number, and then it will ring at your house and you will hear the recording, and once again you can choose to pick it up or not. If you have a family member that uses a phone that happens to be in an unavailable area or out-of-area, you can assign a number code so that they can dial right through.
