He's full of crap. No way it could take YEARS to come off your report if this is a fraudulent account !! If you sent them a DV letter, then the account should be showing as IN DISPUTE on your credit report. If it doesn't you have them on violations of the FCRA as well as the FDCPA. In their collection letters they GIVE you 30 days to dispute and if you don't they then ASSUME the debt is valid. That does NOT mean that they do not have to validate nor does it mean that you have lost your rights to demand validation.

Send them a 2nd DV letter, give them 15 days this time to validate or remove their entries from your credit report. Outline any and all violations of the laws and demand that they properly validate the debt or cease collections and remove their entries or you'll sue !

You also send a letter to the CRA's with a copy of your 1st DV letter and green card stating that Sherman/Northland has not, or cannot validate the debt to you and therefore you want their crap removed from your CR.
